Chad Hershler has been acting and writing professionally for over 15 years. As an actor, Chad has worked on stages across the country including the Centaur Theatre in Montreal, the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto, Bard on the Beach in Vancouver and the Palace Grande in Dawson City, Yukon. He has extensive film and TV credits dating back to his work as a child actor in the late eighties. His journalism can be found in newspapers and magazines across Canada including The Globe and Mail, The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, Vancouver Magazine and BC Business. He has published several works of non-fiction and prose and written/co-produced four radio documentaries for CBC Radio One. Chad has also written two plays, a TV pilot, and is currently working on the second draft of his first novel Badimong. Chad is the Artistic Director of deer crossing the art farm, a not-for-profit arts organization based out of five Sunshine Coast acres whose mission is to create positive change in people and communities through a combination of cutting edge arts and nature-driven programming. As Artistic Director since the art farm was founded in 2008, Chad has helped to create and produce RETURN—an interdisciplinary farm and forest-based arts event in 2009—Synchronicity Festival 2010, and the 2011 Rainforest Circus.
Chad lives with his wife, daughter, dog, cat and various other wildlife on the art farm just outside of Gibsons, BC.
